26th November 2006 Sunday

Have you ever wondered how some people could just stand by when they see someone else in trouble, knowing full well that they have the power to help them? Have you ever wondered how much power we possess to change this world? Have you ever wondered how each and every of our actions could have a rippling effect on all the things that happens in the future? Or have you ever sighed in dispair on all everything could have changed if people would just put in the effort. Well, sometimes I do wonder these things. Isn't the world just amazing? How each and every choice that we make in our everyday life affects the feelings of those around you. How each and every of our actions could bring about consequences that we could never ever imagined in the future. Some people might think that a single person alone never ever made a difference. But how would you know? I mean, how would you know unless you could put two identical worlds in parallel, one with you and one without you, and weigh them. But no one could ever do that. Can we? But I guess each and every of us do make a difference to this world in a way or another. Isn't the world today but a consequence of a myriad of actions of people past and present? I call it cause and effect. An action brings and affects and brings about many many other actions. So if we didn't like the world today, who could we blame but ourselves? I do not mean that each and every one of us have the ability to change this world. But don't that ability lie in our actions in totality? If only each and every one of us would put in a little more effort. Instead of questioning whether others would follow suit if we started doing our part, why don't we spend the effort starting the ball rolling? Or are we contented with a world whereby everyone are in individualistic social circles and stepping out to help someone outside of the circle becomes something that is exceeding of our roles, something that is unwanted? Sometimes I do wonder......

19th November 2006 Sunday

Have you ever realised how many things we do just because we are used to doing it in such a way and not because it is the best way? Have you realised how often we give in to someone because we are so used of giving in? Have you realised how often we commit the same mistake even though we knew deep inside us that the consequences hurt? Have you realised how often we take the same route to and fro home even when there is a new shortcut in place? Have you realised how often we remain angry with someone even when we have long forgotten why we were angry at them in the first place?

11th November 2006 Saturday

Read this off CY's blog:

"Why do humans always treat people who are supposed to be treated nice, badly? And vice versa. I know. Because deep down inside, we know those who treated us nicely will never leave us no matter how badly we treat them. And how about those who treated you badly but you treated them nicely? Because humans are dumb."

I couldn't help but agree with the first half of the post. But regarding the second half and especially the part about humans are dumb, I don't really agree. I think we do so not because we are dumb but because we love. And love has always been about giving and not expecting anything in return. So as long as we still love, we would continue to give and give, even if we get hurt again and again. Yes. You did not hear wrongly. It would still hurt. But one day, you will grow numb of the pain......

To cy: There are always more than one way of looking at the same thing. And there will always be one way that is happier than the rest. Even though it might not be the best way of looking at it, but if you can help it, always look at the happier way. It would make you happier. You might not be able to change some things. But you can always change your way about thinking about it.
