24th February 2007 Saturday

Happy Chinese New Year to all those who are still active around here. Have a great year ahead. Considering that it is New Year, peppermintgreentea have been doing a little of thinking here and there. Like what goals to set for this year and stuff and as usual come up with more questions than answers. Well, in the first place, what is the ultimate goal of life? If we are never going to understand or define that ourselves, we will never ever come up with meaningful goals whatsoever. In lieu of the spate of resignation tendered by fellow colleagues, peppermintgreentea has been thinking - what do I really want in life? Money? Friends? Life? Or what? That was when peppermintgreentea realised that he is really pathetic because even he doesn't know what he wants for himself or what does he really enjoy for that matter. And I guess he is not alone ain't it? We have set goals for ourselves when we were young and many of us really put in a lot of effort to work towards these goals. But along the way, somehow many of us also forgets what we are really working for. So much so that along the way, we totally lost our sense of direction and just adopted the life that we have always been leading. Some of us have even forgotten the passion that goaded us on in the very beginning. Ain't it? Those of you reading this, take a break and consider. Do you really remember what you have always wanted and have been working so hard for? Is it what you really wanted now? Or are you just living life from day to day just because you have been living so for so long? Just look at the world around us. Everyone is rushing from one place to another, doing one thing after another each and every second of life. Do anyone really know the purpose of doing them? Or have they gone from being pushed by passion to blindly following a routine? Or are they really doing these things just because everyone in the society seems to be doing such things or because these things seem right? Let me give you an example. Initially, being vegetarian was goaded by a respect and mercy for life. How many vegetarians these days are really vegetarians because of a respect and mercy for life? Not to mention that some vegetarians find it a chore to do them because of religious purposes. Isn't that a loss of the very purpose of doing the thing itself? Or look at those donations that people have been giving. Are they really doing so out of pity? Or out of a mind to help those in need? Anyone got the answer? Well, I guess that is up to the individual to judge.

On a happier note, me finally bought SHE's concert DVD after much consideration. I think their live singing really improved by leaps and bounds. And I loved many of the songs that were inside the CD as well as the performances inside. Hebe was great with her drum solo and her solo of "She's the One". Wonder how she does that twirling of the drumsticks. Amazing. Ella's voice is as strong and steady as ever. And Selina was great with her rapport with the audience. And I really loved the cantonese song - Qing Ren that they sang. Really nice effect when the audience sang along with them. Could literally feel the excitement in the live concert at Hong Kong. Guess we don't get too many audiences who let their hair down and go all the way in enjoying themselves in concerts over at Singapore. Always felt that Singapore audience aren't as "high" as the Taiwanese and Hong Kong audiences. Well, again, up to the individual to judge. Well, that's about all I guess. Till the next time~

I was her she was me
We were one we were free
And if there's somebody calling me on
She's the one
If there's somebody calling me on
She's the one

We were young we were wrong
We were fine all along
If there's somebody calling me on
She's the one

When you get to where you wanna go
And you know the things you wanna know
You're smiling
When you said what you wanna say And you know the way you wanna play, yeah
You'll be so high you'll be flying

Though the sea will be strong
I know we'll carry on
'Cos if there's somebody calling me on
She's the one
If there's somebody calling me on
She's the one

When you get to where you wanna go
And you know the things you wanna know
You're smiling
When you said what you wanna say And you know the way you wanna say it
You'll be so high you'll be flying

I was her she was me
We were one we were free
If there's somebody calling me on
She's the one
If there's somebody calling me on
She's the one
If there's somebody calling me on
She's the one
Yeah she's the one
If there's somebody calling me on
She's the one
She's the one
If there's somebody calling me on
She's the one
She's the one
If there's somebody calling me on
She's the one
She's the one..
